Update! March 2023

We are just about to wrap Season 3 of Superman and Lois where I was a member of the breakdown team. I can tell you a lot of work goes into those supersuits!

Update: June 2022

I'm currently a member of the costuming departments of both ACFC West and IATSE 891, with a focus on Breakdown/Ageing/Dyeing and Build. I've done full shows as Prep, Stitching and Assistant Truck, but my passion is Ageing/Dyeing and Building specializing in leatherwork. I assisted in these arenas on the last 2 Seasons of "Van Helsing", took the lead role of Breakdown/Dyer on the NBC SciFi series "Debris". I was a Key Breakdown Artist and did all the dyeing for the much revered Showtime series "Yellowjackets" Season 1. Lastly I was part of the large Breakdown and Build team on "Avatar: The Last Airbender" aka Tradewinds where I assisted in building and breaking down leather armor such as lead characers Zuko and Uncle Iroh, tooling armor pieces as well as some airbrushing and much more. It was quite an amazing team and experience, and I look forward to next year when the show airs and the world can see it!

May 2018

Between 2000-2013 I was college trained and employed in the printing and graphics industry in commercial print. I have always had a need to have a creative project on the go and enjoy working with my hands which led me to my hobby of leather-craft which I’ve been doing since 2010. This, combined with my husband, an I.A.T.S.E. 891 Scenic Carpenter inspired to me to get involved in the film industry and I decided costuming may be a good fit for me.

When I discovered the costuming roles of Dyer and Breakdown Artist through Capilano University’s “Costuming for Stage and Screen Program” I was immediately intrigued and excited as I was previously unaware these were such a prominent part of costuming. Part of our full-time course load were film-based textile classes taught by Anthea of The Dye Dept. We learned dyeing using the 1% solution, teching and breakdown of all sorts including Blood and Ice workshops by Dawn Clime, and silkscreening, devoire and much more. CapU’s 2 year costuming program blossomed in me a love for textile manipulation and surface design and I am now working towards being a Textile Artist and Builder.
